The military drones have bombed areas that are considered the sanctuaries of FRUD (Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy).
FRUD claimed that The Day National Park (Forêt du Day National Park) was bombed by the drones between June 2/3.
The President of the resistance organization Mohammed Kadamy made a press release about the incident in Brussels.
Kadamy stated “The ancient Day Forest, a centuries-old ecological treasure, has been deliberately set ablaze by criminal elements.”
Kadamy provided details aboout his his claim saying, “Between the night of June 2 and the early hours of June 3, 2025, flames consumed over 50 hectares of this biodiversity sanctuary, located at an altitude of nearly 1,800 meters on Mount Goda in the Tadjourah district. There is no doubt about the origin of the fire: it was ignited by military drones, as part of a continuing series of assaults against the Afar population.”

The President of FRUD claimed that local fauna and flora have been destroyed under the pretext of fighting against FRUD.
At the end of the press release, Kadamy called on “ countries supplying military drones to Djibouti to recognize and address their complicity in the misuse of these weapons.”
He also appealed to France “entrusted with overseeing Djibouti’s airspace under the July 2024 defence agreement, to intervene and halt the criminal actions of Djibouti state.
