Since its founding, Medya News had established itself as a leading source of news and analysis on Kurdish affairs, publishing extensive written and visual content covering various aspects of the Kurdish question.
Medya News, a prominent pro-Kurdish media platform, has announced that it ceased operations as of 30 June, ending five years of providing English-language coverage on Kurdish issues.
In a statement, the platform said:
“The current political climate and recent developments within the Kurdish movement as a whole call for a renewed approach to journalism. Kurdish media continues to face oppression, silencing, and censorship. New media ventures will lead the way for a reimagined future — the tradition of Kurdish journalism will endure, carried forward by new voices rising to meet the moment and reach English-speaking audiences.”

The platform also focused on Turkish expansionism and reported on alleged war crimes committed by the Turkish state in different parts of Kurdistan.
