Journalists killed in defence of the truth in Rojava

23 male and female journalists were martyred in NE Syria in order to reveal the truth.

ANHA agency’s correspondent Issam Abdullah was killed during the bombing of Derik on the 20th of November, while he was covering the air strikes launched by the Turkish occupation state on NE Syria.

Here are names of these journalists:

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Aram Muhammad Abdullah who was martyred in Abu Qalqil district on the 2nd of June 2016, while covering the campaign to liberate the city of Manbij.

* A satellite correspondent (Ronahî TV) and the member of the Free Media Union; Mustafa Muhammad Shukri, who was injured on the 13th of July 2016 while covering the campaign to liberate Manbij, and martyred in a hospital in the city of Qamishlo on the 18th of the same month and the same year.

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Saleh Sido (Rustam Gilo), who was martyred on the 11th of November 2016 during the Turkish occupation state’s bombing of Shahba.

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Ahmed Sadu (Mazloum Bagouk), who was martyred on the 28th of September 2014, when the humanitarian crossing between Shengal and Rojava was opened.

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Qadr Khalaf (Riwan Zagros), who was martyred in the village of Falestin in Jaza’a district on December 21, 2014.

* Member of the Media Center of the Women’s Protection Units; Maryam Muhammad (Agri Yilmaz), who was martyred in the village of Khan Mamad on the 13th of April 2015 while covering the operations to liberate the villages of Kobani.

* Member of the Media Center of the Women’s Protection Units; Ahin Faeq (Aren Kobani), who was killed on January 31, 2016 as a result of a mine explosion in Al-Hol area in Hasaka.

* The worker in the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units and the Media Center of the Women’s Protection Units; Ronahi Omar (Eylul Nohalat), who was martyred on the 20th of November 2016 during the Turkish occupation state’s bombing of Al-Shahba.

* Gharib Rasho (Gharib Welat), one of the founders of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units, and was martyred on April 20, 2017 during the Euphrates Wrath campaign.

* Reem Khashman (Shelan Bhutan), who worked in the Media Centers of the People’s Protection Units and the Women’s Protection Units, was martyred on April 25, 2017, during the Turkish occupation’s attacks on Mount Qarachokh in Derik region.

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Ahmed Hassan Hamo (Riwan Kanjo), who was martyred on the 25th of April 2017 during the Turkish occupation attacks on Mount Qarachokh in Derik region.

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Haqi Jalal Hasan (Haqqi Bagouk), who was martyred on the 25th of April 2017 during the Turkish occupation attacks on Mount Qarachokh in Derik region.

* Member of the Media Center of the People’s Protection Units; Ocalan Ahmed (Tolhaldan Welat), who was martyred on January 22, 2018, during the air attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state on Afrin.

* Muhammad Aksoy, who was born in Bakur Kurdistan and immigrated to Britain with his family while he was still young, and was martyred on September 26, 2017 during the Al-Jazira Tempest campaign.

* Member of the Media Center of the Women’s Protection Units; Romanda Afrin, who was martyred in Janders district in Afrin during the Resistance of the Age.

* ANHA agency correspondent, Dilshan Ibish, who was covering the Al-Jazira Tempest campaign alongside the Syrian Democratic fighters. On October 12, 2017, she went to the Kharafi region between Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor to follow up on the situation of civilians who were liberated from ISIS mercenaries and were martyred in a car bomb explosion.

* This explosion also resulted in the serious injury of the journalist, Hawker Muhammad, that led to his martyrdom on October 14, 2017, despite all medical attempts to save him.

* The reporter, Rizgar Denir, who was seriously injured in the same explosion, was martyred on the 18th of December, despite all medical attempts to save him.

* The free media worker, Muhammad Rasho, who was seriously injured on the 13th of October 2019 during the massacre committed by the Turkish occupation state against civilians in Serêkaniyê, and was martyred on the 14th of the same month.

* In the same massacre, the correspondent of ANHA agency, Saad Ahmed, was martyred on the 14th of October 2019.

* On October 13, 2019, the member of the Media Center of the Women’s Protection Units, Dlovan Olmes (Dlovan Kafr), was martyred during her coverage of the Dignity Resistance against the Turkish occupation army in Girê Spî.

* Journalist Widad Erdamji, who was martyred in the air attack launched by the Turkish occupation state on Serêkaniyê on the 11th of October.

* Recently, ANHA agency’s correspondent Issam Abdullah was martyred during the bombing of Derik on the 20th of November, while he was covering the air strikes launched by the Turkish occupation state on NE Syria.
